* Signal has an Incognito keyboard for mobile separate from the default one to prevent leaking information. If your system has a keystroke logger installed, nothing on it is secure.
* Signal only uses dedicated apps, therefore browser tracking is not possible.

This is why Gabbard "misremembered" that details of the mission were included in the chat. No one in the chat could access the texts because they had been auto-deleted. Otherwise, how stupid do you have to be to testify before Congress about what was in or not in the chat without reviewing it.

Order of operations is important. If Goldberg was added as the first member, the others added later wouldn't get the notification and would need to look at the group members. Based on his reporting Goldberg was added at the start.

I have 4K contacts in my phone. I'd probably fail to identify how I met a big chunk of them. Goldberg covers Natsec. Waltz probably met him years ago at some event and didn't remember. Probably clicked on the wrong JG in the signal list.

The problem is Goldberg was not the first member added. In the screenshots released today, Rubio added his SECOND insecure device right after Goldberg was added.

I haven’t had time to look super closely (yet), but this means that he wasn’t the first and others should have asked why he was there.

I believe he thought he was adding Jamieson Greer, who is the US Trade Representative, so the JG initials make sense as well as him not chiming in to the conversation (well, if the JG was Greer, not Goldberg). The question is how Waltz added Goldberg to his contacts. Are their phone numbers close?

In a normal administration, I agree that USTR wouldn't make sense, but Trump doesn't distinguish between trade, diplomacy/bullying, and military action. Remember, the discussion focused a lot on making Europe pay for our military keeping the Red Sea open, and USTR does make sense for that.
