Sadly, I can’t get past the paywall on an article I coauthored but you get the point.

It’s exactly one month since @johnsipher.bsky.social and I wrote this Foreign Policy piece about how the US would now inevitably be seen as an unreliable intelligence sharing partner. The Signal debacle shows the article wasn’t pessimistic enough.

I said out that 5 Eyes should become 4 Eyes for their own protection. A friend pointed out that under Trump security measures, secrets now travel to millions of eyes.

One of the best spy shows ever made is The Sandbaggers, it's on Tubi these days and still very good despite it's age. The episodes were so accurate the scripts had to be cleared by British Naval Intelligence.

Had a friend who was an SOE agent in southern France. He refused to continue working with some colleagues because he could see how reckless they were. "On his side" or not they were too risky to deal with. Saved his life.
Pretty much how I imagine America's allies see it now.
