What I hate is the condescending positioning of Noether as "one of the most important women in mathematics" or the book's title, "Einstein's tutor." 🤮 Noether was simply one of the greatest mathematicians in history, full stop. #math #physics #histsci

I dislike this framing as well. That’s why I never describe her this way in the book, but rather, as you say, simply one of the most important mathematicians in history.

Don’t take titles too seriously. They are marketing tools, largely chosen by the publisher.

I agree that she is well known among historians and mathematicians. But I figure if there is an angle that pulls in a reader who has never heard of her that's good.
