Yep! Trying to get my work authorization right now, and then citizenship next year.

And yeah, I do post pretty late in the day sometimes.

For the route I'm taking, being married for one year qualifies you. Then you can apply for citizenship and take a Spanish language exam and I think a history/civics exam.

So about 2-3 years from now, I should finish

How fares the work authorization application? And what does the process involve? Maybe there are similarities between there and Canada.

Well, it's something you get automatically when you get your residency permit (permission to stay in Spain) and a NIE (equivalent of a SSN for noncitizens)
