K now talk about the rusich group or the far right elements in the Russian military, Ukraine having a far right group is not emblematic of the entire country currently fighting for survival.
so really Russia is a quasi fascist country with strong opposition to it, while Ukraine is an overtly fascist country. it would be a flawed to think that everyone who lives in a place agrees with the leaders. but leaders in Ukraine and a significant portion of it's military are openly Nazis & proud
its possible to a degree, but Ukraine has proved it is by engaging in about a decade of ethnic cleansing, making it illegal to even speak ill of Nazi officers they hold as national heroes, and outright banning all left political parties. while in Russia the 2ed strongest party is the communist party
Russian advantage in this regard is that it's not considered a "Western" country, so its history of very rabid imperialism is rarely examined, even though it stuck around through two regime changes.

When it is Ukraine that has the actual Nazi problem?

Good take. The same "peace activists" and pacifists would've cried for appeasement with Hitler.
