It isn't hard, or complex, or nuanced. It is just simple and factual. They signed up, swore an oath that included the expectation for them to possibly fight and die in defense of our nation. They didn't ask to leave, or be released. These heroes faced that possiblity, AND the ugliness thrown at them

Indeed. Trans people serve in the military at twice the rate that cis people do, and the military needs all the qualified people it can attract, because the failure to meet recruiting goals is deemed a "crisis" and a "national security threat."

Christ, we may have to start our own military anyway to stop Trump - we can probably put together a formidable force with them, all the minorities Trump hates, and every intelligent, moral person currently or formerly in the military.

Yeah... I think about this a lot. A President that dodged his military duty who could not define the words "moral" or "morale", or use either properly in a sentence, micro-managing the US military hiring and firing practices.
