Thanks for reposting this powerful and important article. As an adoptee who found my birthmother at 32, we need more of these stories to counter the mythical “lucky” narrative.
The Scottish language “gallic” came from Irish Gaeilga ( the Irish language).lots of the words are the same. It’s just a different dialect. The Scottish language has got a number of Norwegian words due to the Vikings. We have common history.
