Sherrod Brown lost my respect and support when decided to play along with the right’s exclusion of trans people in Ohio.

I’ve supported him from his very first campaign, but he showed us winning is more important than his values. Then after throwing trans people to the wolves he lost anyway.

It was an understandable mistake, the democrats focusing on Trump’s distain for traditional American civics, distain for our elections; Democrats followed Trumps inflammatory lead, defending those marginalized by Trumps attacks. It was reactionary. It could be nothing else, but It was a mistake.

In retrospect, the threat to democracy line didn’t bite because the truth is after 20 years on not teaching civics in American schools, a critical mass of Trump voters no longer care about our carefully designed government. Our system of government cannot be healthy without proper education.
