The disappearance of most third spaces over the last 30ish years directly contributed to the acceleration of fascism in America

Selfishly disappointed in the fact that during this dismantling of our democracy we have no "cafe culture" to speak of, as they might in other countries. All we have is TV, cars, phones, and fast food culture. People hate and fear each other, and have to make quite the effort to know one another.
