Not a fan in general, but got to hand it to Jehovah's Witnesses in Nazi Germany. The men refused to serve in the German military (there was no conscientious objector exemption) and a great many were sent to concentration camps. Not one gave in. Eventually released, but couldn't have known that.

Years ago when grocery stores had baggers, near Christmas one of them begged me to let him push my cart to my car. I asked why, as I was fully able at the time. He said their Christmas music was on a 10 minute loop and drove all the workers there all day crazy. I let him push the cart as respite.
