I mean, multiple things can be true. Darvin Ham was an inexperienced coach who lost the locker room and needed to go. He also had a poorly constructed roster that shouldn’t have had any contender expectations to begin with.

The Lakers fired their last championship winning coach because they are currently poorly run organization that has simply gotten lucky that stars want to play for them. And I say this as someone who’s been a fan for nearly 30 years.
They’re a family run business running the Lakers like a mom and pop shop lol. But can’t imagine a world where they would sell the team. So like Dolan and the Knicks or Jones and the Cowboys, they’ll need to try and win despite the owner.
I don’t blame her for that at all. Her dad would’ve done the same thing. It’s part of their ideology to take care of star players to a fault, and frankly, helped make them attractive to stars. That’s very low on the list of poor decisions, which basically includes all the other personnel decisions.
