Since I’m officially an associate agent, I'm excited to announce that I'm open to queries for the first time! Here is my #MSWL thread with my fiction interests & instructions on how to query me :)

I would love to see some mysteries, especially whodunits and cozies! If you have a fresh take on the genre please send it my way. Some recent ones I’ve enjoyed are the SUSAN RYELAND series by Anthony Horowitz and HOW TO SOLVE YOUR OWN MURDER by Kristen Perrin #MSWL
Tropes and other things I like to see in mysteries/thrillers: spunky girls, amateur detectives, blackmail, dark backstories, old houses, clever twists, libraries, ghosts and the supernatural, locked rooms, #BIPOC and #LGBTQ protagonists, folklore-inspired tales
Hi Brooke. Would an espionage/time travel thriller be in your wheelhouse? It has blackmail, dark backstories, twists aplenty and forays into centuries past. Here's a pitch I made on P2P today, that contains an agent guide. Thanks so much for engaging here on Bluesky.
I’m selective with horror—no gore for gore’s sake. But if you can weave in social commentary like THE ONLY GOOD INDIANS by Stephen Graham Jones or mental health themes like in THE SEPTEMBER HOUSE by Carissa Orlando, I’d love to see those. Fresh perspectives are a must! #MSWL
Still figuring out my romance tastes, but if your manuscript has fake relationship, grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, or late bloomer tropes, pls send it my way. I also love nerds! Neurodiverse, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ protags/love interests always welcome #MSWL
I don't think I’m generally a great fit for fantasy, BUT the exception would be something cozy with Studio Ghibli vibes. Cafes! Weird little guys! Girl empowerment! Nature! Cats! Wholesome! Coming-of-age! (Not looking for super complicated world-building or heavy romance/spice) #MSWL
Finally, I love historical fiction would be ecstatic to get some in my inbox, especially stories set around the world. Some of my favorites include LOOT by Tania James, HAMNET by Maggie O'Farrell, PACHINKO by Min Jin Lee, and THE NICKEL BOYS by Colson Whitehead #MSWL
I #amquerying an LGBTQI+ love story. As we heard in his inauguration speech, Trump denies the existence of intersex bodies. Grace too wants nothing more than to have her intersex traits erased. In her coming-of-age, she comes to love herself. #ownvoices - What do you think?
Across the board I'm not the best fit for heavy spice! And personally I feel better fit for lighter romance stories (contemporary, rom-com, etc.) compared to dark romance.
Hi, Brooke! I work with authors as a query coach, and I may have a solid lead for your "horror with social commentary." It's queer horror with a speculative fiction/AI twist. Does the agency have a website that I can refer the author to? My Google searches are coming up empty.
Hi Brooke! On your MSWL you mention you're open to select horror, but your QM page doesn't have horror listed as a genre. Is there something else we should submit those projects under (for instance, for a cross-genre thriller/horror story, should we submit as thriller & mention the horror elements)?
Hi Keith, thanks for asking! Yes checking thriller and mentioning it has horror elements would be perfect. I will have to update my form a little when I get a chance but for now this works best :)
Brook, congratulations on becoming an associate agent. I'm starting to put out queries and I am trying to gage if my manuscript is of any interest.
Would a mystery with science fiction and romance mixed in be something that catches your interest?
Hi Brooke, firstly congratulations I hope you find some amazing writers to work with.
Would you be open to a historical action adventure set during the Battle of Bosworth? My beta readers tell me they love the pace, the characters and I’ve had tears and cheers at the end.
I am UK based.
On your QM there’s no YA romance, if I’d like to pitch, would you be open to me pitching under the romance category? I have a YA #ownvoice grumpy-sunshine fake dating hockey romance, not sure if that’s something you’d want to see?
