We have a defensible space in every way except trees, but we cannot remove those for various reasons. Do you have any suggestions for ways to mitigate tree risk when you can’t cut them down? Or is it simply a risk we have to live with?

Very helpful article, which I'll refer to as I work on my yard at my new home in Camarillo. One note, there wasn't a lot of information on "Install vents in attic and crawlspaces that don't allow embers to enter." What kind of vents are these? Thank you.
