I don’t know much about Williams, but the size was needed. I really hate to lose Knecht. He was a great draft pick. We still have all of the wings that we need though and we kept Reaves.

It's a good trade for both teams I feel. Charlotte is going the OKC youth route w/ draft picks and Lakers are trying to make bank with a postseason run and give LeBron a chance at a chip with Bronny.

I think they're thinking long-term and his foot has been already bugging him year on year. They're probably happy to swing again at a big with less concerns considering they got the time to do it. Lakers just needed to fill the gap for the post season so I doubt they care as much about that.

Mark Williams wasn’t effective for Charlotte. He had a few good games, but otherwise he’s been slow and poor on the defensive end. Diabete has shown much more energy.
