I found your essay as fascinating as Flow. I’d love to see a sequel.
(I wasn’t able to watch all of The Wild Robot because constant mental comparisons to AI-loving doge minions kept intruding. Maybe later I can finish viewing it.)

This movie looks so beautiful, but the premise sounds so haunting to me that I chickened out from seeing it at the cinema :( I find the notion of (animals or people) not understanding their circumstances / loss to be terribly crushing. Plus, have four cats. Recipe for overreacting.

I have been a bit hesitant to recommend the movie to cat owners because even I found it very stressful. All I can say is that things work out for the cat in the end.
