I’ll say it. SV’s fishing sucks… Until you hit like level 6 or 7 and get the big boi upgrades (iridium rod, etc).

The first few levels, your catch bar is so itty bitty tiny that it just doesn’t feel good, but with stat boosts and better equipment it’s super intuitive.

And that's okay! Fishing minigames can for sure be hard, especially with how many of them are reflex based. And not everyone is going to enjoy them! After all, if everyone enjoyed fishing minigames, every game would have one, and they wouldn't be so special anymore.

Dave the Diver is great! When I first posted it, I said it was a fishing game and so didn't count as a fishing minigame, but I've reviewed it since and noted that, since everything in the game is a minigame, it has a fishing minigame! And as a minigame, it's brilliant!! In my top 5 games of the year

Fun fact: If you do not fish at all for the first year of the game, Willy will show up at your house in the spring and give you a free level in fishing.

I also don't enjoy fishing in stardew and avoid it as long as I can.

Not boomer. I’ve seen young lads fishing illegally on our local river - drag nets, lead weights, out of season fishing, fishing where there are no fishing signs, not putting fish back in, and even tossing their beer and energy drink cans in the river. A total of respect.

It was in petrol, until fairly recently. But I’m not sure about everything. And we used to buy our vegetables in paper bags, whereas nowadays it all seems to come wrapped in plastic - which is also now in everything, including water.

Over the years, I have gotten much better at it, but early on when I struggled (and I was going to spend the whole day fishing), I will buy Trout soup from Willy. Boost in fishing helps, and I will definitely earn that 250g back fishing.
