One that's more sad, I once pointed out the way my (allistic) grandma says "wash" (she says "warsh") and from that point on she was self-conscious to say it the "proper" way. Wasn't my intent, I just thought it was interesting 😭

My super ableist former boss (who I'm suing for discrimination) did this all the time; once when I said I had observed that a party goer at a book launch for a trans author was a TERF, I was immediately, loudly reprimanded. Bad boss knew this guy was a POS, but also wanted his money regardless.

It’s like the same thing happening again. Years of reading about ADHD and being like “well yeah everyone is like that?” Then the slow realisation and waiting to be seen about it, and now it’s all happening with autism and I’m like 🙃 really?

The big thing that nobody ever talked about was that copious lying makes society possible, but we don't call them lies. They are only considered lies if we tell them to benefit ourselves at the expense of others - and sometimes not even then.
