When I was trying to learn about 40k (like 10 yrs ago) I went to a gameshop with a girl showing me her collection of pink and purple painted Space Marines. I thought they looked awesome.

She also had some Orcs(?) that she painted in sparkly paints. They looked amazing. I never ended up getting into the hobby though when I saw the price tag.
