I modded it for the sake of modding, which exercised that game design part of my brain.

It did make me think that we could eventually see a game where there is not the programming of a story but of the world itself and NPCs & creatures have full autonomy & agency. They can be born, reproduce, age and die within the confines of the virtual world.

Ok so this game just came out on Steam called ‘Ecosystem’ (of course) and it’s exactly what I’m thinking of but underwater.

hyper-realistic virtual life games will eventually become the biggest gaming category, especially if they get to the point where they can simulate human intelligence good enough. It might take a decade or two but it will happen.

Sometimes I get the urge but without steam or curseforge to manage the mods I just do not have it in me to install.

Honestly the nexus mods requirement w/e keeps me from wasting my time
