At this point if you repeat the Anonymity is why people Suck things, you're an idiot. No matter how many times this theory gets tested IN PLAIN SIGHT, people act like it's some kind of truism. I hate that I've been arguing about this for 15 years despite it becoming more and more comedically false.

4chan generally actively discourages this traceability, and that does play a factor in people's behavior.
I could argue that part of 4chan's problem is Abeig Anon means you have no social stakes and while I think it makes more likely, SA proves you don't need to be anonymous to catch the brainrot. 4chan's main problem is being offshot of conservative Japanese nerd culture.
