Going into the season thinking career 7/8 defensemen could be everyday players was a big risk. The team’s defence has 2 top 4, 2 3rd pair and the rest are not guys that should be everyday players.

You didn’t say “role players”, you said “bad players”. I would say Debrusk’s 17 goals would “move the needle” on a contending team. Sherwood leading the league in hits by a country mile might also. The Canucks D-core is worse than last year, but the poor play of Miller & Petey is the key.
