I just think the key is to not be smug. All the tech billionaires lining up behind Trump has given us the perfect opportunity. “These people lied to you in order to line their pockets.”
Nope! That’s giving those people an out, a path to avoid responsibility/accountability for their vote. I’ve got a functioning brain with critical thinking skills - I wasn’t tricked, nor were many millions of others. No one will be hearing that from me. And nor should they from you.
A better message then is, "They tricked you. They told you what you wanted to hear. You need to look at not only what they say on a big stage or commercials, but what they're saying in interviews with supporters. Do your due diligence."
Voting is a responsibility and it should be treated as such.
There seem to be a lot of people who will ignore 99% of what these scam artists are saying and focus on the 1% that's good, even when you confront them with the aforementioned 99%. They'll just ignore it, or find some bullshit excuse. Drives me insane.
You forget that half of people have below-average intelligence. They survive by following. If they don’t follow you, they’ll follow people who love drumpf. Fight fire with fire, bend the truth to save a life.
Nope - just like with getting sober - you have to admit you have a problem and take responsibility for your actions (and votes) and then you can work toward helpful strategies and clear thinking.
With your reasoning, they are pliable - they could change who and what they follow like the wind blows.
I honestly and gently tried this with my aging MAGA parents, and it went over like a concrete balloon. Data and facts are absolutely useless. They will not be able to admit this to themselves without ALSO recognizing their gullibility. So they must stay in a state of denial to preserve self-image.
Honestly, after all the shit that’s gone down this time and from 2016, we shouldn’t have to reach these people at all. Common sense is not common and they have screwed themselves along with many others.
The bottom line is Trump was smart enough to manipulate them to get what he needed from them. Like Trump, we need to tell them what they want to hear to get them on board. “You were lied to. You’re the victim.” 🤮
This is true, but it's hard to fathom that anyone was actually convinced by the lies. The lies were only there to patch over the hatred and paranoia, like ketchup on a turd. This person ate shit. They're still doing it, thinking RFK is going to improve public health. Is "Stop eating shit" viable?

pay attention to her counterpart who thought RFK was cool, didn't like Trump or Harris much but thinks shit is fucked up now, and doesn't vote
Saying "you were lied to" makes it so they aren't accountable for their actions or ignorance. That will teach them nothing.
