I scanned some stuff for a patient and sent to their email account because they had access to email at the library. They gave me the papers they were scared of losing, it was 4 or 5 letters from their mom, birth certificate, a few photos. Was told not to do it, did it, no regrets
One line in here strikes:
President elect trump has vowed to ban urban camping and “making it easier to institutionalize people with severe mental illness.”
…creating institutions again? Because that would be HUGELY HELPFUL. Reagan shutting them down was a massive mistake.
Super sad but I'm over my students not being able to use the park in their neighborhood because of the drug users camping out there. I'm a lifelong Democrat but time to ban the homeless from public spaces, get tough on crime, and close the border.
Where do you imagine the homeless will go, if they are "banned from public spaces?"
This is what I can never understand about this extremely cruel idea of a "ban" on homeless people. They don't cease to exist; they have to go somewhere. So are they just moved around like a game of hot potato?
Offer all homeless a locker to store important items and a place to take a shower and eat. Sleeping must be done in a shelter or, if they are willing to work, a tiny house.
As it is now, it's the working poor who can't use the parks, bike paths, and sidewalks. They are the ones impacted most.
You are not a Democrat.
* You don’t need to steal from people in order to evict them from public spaces, which is an act of intentional cruelty
* We are already tough on crime. If you don’t think so, you should look at the data
* None of that has anything to do with the border, revealing you.
Well I'd like to win the Presidency & Senate & House again in my lifetime & the border seems like a big deal to voters, but what do I know
Close the border & have an organized method for admitting people seems reasonable.
And violent criminals should never see the light of day; they can't be fixed
✔️ That’s unrelated to police stealing the passports and medications of people. So why change the subject?
✔️ The border is not open. People are not just freely legally admitted here.
✔️ Your statements do show that the right has succeeded in deceiving which IS indeed a great way to win elections.

🐱 I will move on to watching videos of cats that talk by pressing those buttons.
I never said police should steal anything from the homeless. I would prefer homeless people receive a locker to put important items.
An enormous number of people are here legally and illegally. Some of those are criminals. Legalize the Dreamers and kick out the troublemakers.
Have a great day!
I lived in a car, in San Diego, for 3 years. My biggest fear was the city would take my car. The last year I was lucky enough to find a secure place to park, with an hourly patrol who didn't mind my being there.
Thank you for this. Having worked with homeless youth and families for over 40 years this humanizes the heartbreak and damage we do when “clearing encampments.”

The actions of people who claim to be Christians?
The Jesus I was told about would be disappointed. 😞

For what you’re suggesting, municipalities might as well just look for ways to aggressively pursue permanent housing solutions

Which is… telling.

If they have no proof of who they are…how can they get housing?!? That’s just stupid. “To help them get housing”. Wow.
