The current republican administration seems to rely too much on Trump's charisma without character, conviction or competence, which goes against the various points you raise in the article about transparency, the rule of law, etc. being the hallmarks of a thriving democracy.

Don't think that this means you can get away with things. The fired watchdogs are those that go after the rich and corrupt and not the ones who go after the poor. They're still there in full force. It's just the rich that don't have to worry anymore.

I think instead of giving speeches, the Dem lawyers in Congress should divy up the fightable cases and go to town. Use the glacially slow courts system to our advantage for once, get blocks and holds out on everything so we can catch our collective breath and move forward sanely.

Musk is IT guy. All systems works the same way. DOGE is the virus that changes the system the builder of the virus intended. When virus enters the system that what is does, removes protection of the system. Works in any system the same way.
