Heya, a question: if you play Ps5 on a 1080p TV, performance is the same, right? It's not like lowering output resolution magically increase fps too. Or am i wrong?
In the beta it wasn't less annoying, it looked like the series S version but targeting 60 instead of 30. Honestly I'm let down about how you can notice worse graphics in performance mode even on a 1080p set. It's definitely NOT a case of "don't worry, you don't have 4k so you won't notice!"
And I'm talking about other games too. In ratchet & clank i noticed too many differences between quality mode and performance mode EVEN on a 1080p TV to just say "hm, ok, I'll go for 60 fps, it's not that different". It is different. Don't like this gen of compromises tbh
I feel exactly the same way about this generation. Even with the adoption of 4K, there must be some room to offer something like a 1080p 60fps mode with decent image quality. I have the same doubts about the performance mode in FF VII Rebirth.

ugly to the core, bad performance, and "advanced" graphics tech that gets entirely lost in the low resolution and awful image quality.
