Because of this, I had no idea colorist was a job as a kid! I had the unrealistic idea that those artists did *all* of that and instilled that horrible viewpoint as a mirror to my doodles.

It's about time all of the artists that work on a piece get credit.

A huge pet peeve of mine is where the article just says "Artist" in reference to the line artist and leaves out the colorist, inker, and anyone else involved in the visual aspect.

I'm hugely appreciative for @idwpublishing.bsky.social going the extra mile and even crediting flatters recently on Sonic and My Little Pony, which happened thanks to legendary colorists @mattherms.bsky.social and @reggiegraham.bsky.social for being advocates!

Oh crap, I've been misgendering Jodie Bellaire for years because the only Jordie I ever knew personally was a guy. In every instance this happened because I was praising her work, so I figure it balances out ok.

Since there will presumably be colorists in this chain, can I ask the collective:
how do you establish yourself as a colorist?
Especially as a flatter. I’ve colored my own work and I’d love to pick up part time work flatting but I’m not sure how to connect those dots.
