My mum’s first job as a nurse was administering the vaccine at the army barracks in Saint John. She said it was like a party in there, knowing that nobody would suffer like her generation did. Now she can’t believe someone would take that away.

I was fortunate to grow up after polio was eradicated from Canada. I'm not looking forward to watching it return. The Americans have made such a huge mistake, and as close neighbors, we will be negatively affected in many ways. It's going to be a rough 4 years.

I had polio when I was 3. I went for my first surgery at 5 and came home from the hospital with mumps and chicken pox. The following year I had measles. I have no tolerance for anti-vaxxers and even less for lawyers who try to act like doctors. RFK Jr should take his brainworm and go home.

Our mother had polio; the illness affected her vision and her legs. She was one of the lucky ones, she survived. That was almost 100 years ago. The most recent polio case in the US was in 2022 in New York. Unfortunately, the polio virus is back again in multiple developed and undeveloped countries.

My mom remembers covid-like quarantines before polio vaccines. She remembers summers of not playing with friends, kids not coming back to school. She remembers her school friends that survived who died young from the ongoing complications. One lived in an iron lung for a while. It was their normal.

My dad (now 84) had polio and had some gruesome operations on his legs. We need a black market for vaccines if he's confirmed.
