For example, it was Canada who helped mediate an end to hostilities in the 1950s during the Anglo-Franco-Israeli aggression against the Egyptian Republic. Ofc American was more objective on that issue too.

there was a time when Canada didn't follow the USA's diktat when it came to things like foreign affairs-- the Trudeau government's voting record at the UN over the last 15 months, for example, is nothing short of repulsive for the most part.

Unfortunately Canadian rich people will still control the narrative. I would suggest a better model is to constitutionally devote a percentage of government spending to be split between all Canadians who could choose the Canadian media they individually want to support.

I believe it used to be part of our Constitution that media couldn't be majority owned by foreign companies. Somehow Harper managed to change that. It had to do with maintaining our culture.
