Yes, good point. As I understand it, the petition will be presented to parliament when it returns in March so we'll see what transpires then. At least, the strong amount of support being shown for this petition cannot be ignored.

Most government petition sites, irrespective of the country, usually require petitioners to be citizens. You can't actually sign this petition if you live outside of Canada because the form options don't work when you change to a different country.

There are plenty of people outside Canada that will want to show their support for this petition, so it's a shame that they can't do so directly. But the international press coverage won't go unnoticed. And it shows the world that Canadians are prepared to take a stand against this tyrant.
