Fear, misunderstanding, and discomfort have fueled the backlash. But what if, instead of arguing, we listened? What if we asked, "How can we move forward together?"
I don’t say the pledge anymore. I stopped saying “under god” first more than a decade ago. Then stopped the whole thing. Sometimes I don’t even stand up with the crowd.
Well, we ARE "a Nation of Laws" and Law and Order with "The Rule of Law" in play.....we are all Nobody, which is Everyone who is not in power ruling over us?
Back in 1969 when I was a senior in high school, a classmate was asked to lead the pledge. He finished with "liberty and justice for almost everyone " - Tom knew back then how unfair this country can be.
And protect the Constitution to all cost! What happened with that one too? Looks like the republican government does not know how to read. Actually, they have to wait until they tell them what to say.
