The situation is heading into a full blown trade embargo.
Chinese cargoes may soon be turned away from American ports. I don't think there is any immediate off ramp for either side to de-escalate.

The Chinese could likey make them. Much of what China buys from the US is to reduce the US-China trade deficit, and not because the US has something that the Chinese can't make or buy elsewhere.
