Monkey Man was a quite fun film, despite a few flaws (shaky camera syndrome and OMG when will action directors learn you don't need 80 minutes of buildup? John Wick did it in 5).

I believe Monkey Man was directed by Dev Patel (actor best known for Slumdog Millionaire, The Last Airbender, and The Green Knight). This was his first director's gig (he also wrote and produced the film). The kid impresses me and I'm sure he will get better with more experience.
