#Maigret adaptation? In English.
Mon Dieu!
Apparently they’re remaking Maigret for the modern era. I’m not sure what to make of that, some of the stories do transcend to today I suppose but others clearly belong in the 1930s, 40s and 50s.

I will try and approach the new show with an open mind, but I do feel very sceptical.
I will therefore reserve judgement until this comes out. "Sherlock" managed to bring Conan Doyle to a new audience and hopefully this will bring new readers to Simenon.
For me the period is part of the stories, it adds to the charm and in a few cases it was intrinsic to the investigation. So I’m nervous that in bringing them in to the modern era they end up more like Braquo or Engrenages.
