I have some theories, but can someone who is reporting on this or who works in politics explain why they’re primarily targeting students for this first round of kidnappings?

ICE has arrested Iranian national Alireza Doroudi, a doctoral candidate studying mechanical engineering at the University of Alabama. He was arrested at home at 5 a.m. Tuesday.
As with some of the others who've been disappeared, unclear why he was detained. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Remove immigrants, regardless of good/legit standing, and force universities to bend the knee... to trump.
2 stones, 1 bird for that simpleton stooge in DC.
“First Round”
Which is not true. Some of the best professors and teaching assistants I had in college, were not from the US originally.
They are targeting Higher Education.
Usually they’d get a letter stating that they have 30 days to leave the country. But now we’re getting Fascism theater instead.
Low hanging fruit that will get headlines, a purely PR response to last years protest.
And
They’re scared 💩-less to run those kidnappings in the barrio
You target trans people
in sports, then DEI programs, you remove women and minorities from places of power, attack higher ed, then go after the vulnerable.
Immigrants, students, dissenters.
If no one stops you, eventually, you're at the end of the poem...
