Called Rep. Jay Obernolte (R, CA). Got word salad from a staffer. Was told he voted for the 2023 Social Security Fairness Act. Wouldn’t give me a straight answer when I asked if he supported “reforming” the program along DOGE lines. Said no such legislation has been proposed. She seemed very uneasy.

Let’s have that debate! The Dems should let them make proposals first, put them on their back foot and just keep hammering them. Cutting SS is opposed by a very large majority and a lot of MAGA. Even the proposing of privatization was the beginning of the GW Bush lame duckness.
