My closest encounters with death were by mobsters pulling a gun to my head at my home and at my workplace in Mexico. Why we should risk to have our brains splattered in our front door or cubicles only because Americans have a fetishized relationship with guns?

Mexican companies manufacture guns? I believe there is only one company. Can a citizen walk into a gun store in Mexico and purchase a gun?

As for American firearms companies, just look at the stats re how many guns are manufactured in the US annually.

Yes, they are, but I think you’re incorrect re which states are most egregiously contributing to the problem. Compare gun purchase laws in those states vs. southern states. Regardless of the details, I hope Mexico does something drastic to *force* us into legislative action on this.

Manufacturers mostly fund the NRA and NSSF, it’s not membership fueling this abomination, they’re just the mouthpieces parroting the pro-gun PR narrative. You expect lobbyists and PR hacks to say it out loud? Come on. The best PR is invisible, that’s how they’re trained (as was I). They lobby to block any laws that would help curb trafficking of all kinds, domestic and international. They write legislation that forbids meaningful tracking research.

Yes, they're in it for profit. But it's also about a disingenuous Court that pretends "a well-regulated militia" means guns for everyone everywhere. There's a good chance certain justices were compensated for their opinion. Manufacturers can only call the shots (!) with a complicit Supreme Court.

The beneficiaries are of course the gun manufacturers and THEIR STOCKHOLDERS. Period. The only other companies (aside from ammo and ridiculous accessories) that benefits from the cult of guns are FPS video games, in fact they’ve fueled the insanity by “coolifying” guns when sales were plummeting.

I have no idea if she is the standard corrupt Mexican politician that we always see or if she will bend to the cartels - but I like her.
