That's a fair point. I feel like the difference is he got results. All due respect to Ange for winning a trophy, but if we're being honest, most teams can win a trophy. It's how you do in the league that really shows your level IMO.

He came fifth (very nearly 4th) in his first season after losing Kane and several other senior players and having a mismatched squad built for several other managers going back as far as Poch. How did, e.g., Arteta do in his first season? Hint: he didn't achieve 5th until season 3.
Ange's time quite similar to Ferguson's, who was also teetering on the verge of sacking, but something saved him. Feel free to remind us what that was. The rest is history.
Also, profoundly disagree that any team can win a trophy. It's hard, no matter what the trophy. If it were easy, more teams would do it, and it would mean so much less than it does when it happens. The euphoria Spurs fans felt was like nothing I've known in my life. Same for Palace fans.
Trouble is, because United have had so much money and spent big on incredible squads, as a fan you've never really known how it feels to achieve something despite having an underpowered squad. Therefore you think it's easy to win trophies.
"Most teams can win a trophy" is obviously just not true. In the 10 years prior to last season only 7 English teams won a trophy of any description (including league cups and West Ham's Conference League win).
So if most teams can win a trophy, the question is... why are they choosing not to?
Man United fans think it's easy because it is generally easier when the club has an expensive squad. This is the wage bill of Solskjaer's second place season. Hard to lose with a squad like that.
Well done to him, my point is that Ange showed he can do well in the league, you can’t say that league position shows the level and then dismiss it when it doesn’t suit. This season was poor but a variety of reasons contributed to that and ultimately they won the trophy he said they would.
