I often do my projects a stage at a time: Make a sketch, set it aside for a while, do lines, set it aside for a while, then color and finish!
This one was a one and done! Just start to finish 💪
Maybe one day I'll make one for a more complicated project /bricked)

Other more elaborate drawings, I do thumbnails to plan! Sketches with some loose colors/lighting that I can draw around later, like these old ones:
