I am an apologist for all things Star Trek (I'm currently through a rewatch of ENTERPRISE ffs) but I'm having the hardest time going through Section 31... I've been doing like 5 minutes a day and the off tone makes me tune out. On paper, I love the idea of an espionage-centered Trek but this aint it

I had the hardest time with Enterprise and I really wanted to like it.
I do own all of Star Trek on either Prime Video or Vudu except S5 of Discovery, never on sale solo, S5 of Lower Decks and Section 31, which both aren't currently available for purchase.
Still not good. Only Michelle Yeoh makes it worth watching.
Star Trek has NOTHING to apologize for. Let it evolve. They will still keep to Roddenberry's ideals. They always do.
Focusing on Section 31 was always going go end badly.
There were some intriguing parallels drawn between Pa’nar syndrome and HIV stigma.
I think the show is finding its footing but boy is a rough journey 🥴
Is this the The Last Jedi thing where the show didn't go where you wanted it to go so you are mad at it?
And that it was shot like a TV show pilot. Not enough time to dial in the characters. A little more rehearsal time would have made a world of difference.
or maybe the show kept changing each season cause they could never land on a thesis of what it wanted to be. I really liked season 1 though.
The backdrop mystery every season just changed in exciting/interesting ways. But Burnham's journey progressed in the expected way, if you understand story structure.
Section 31 is way better than at least 15 of those episodes.
