Hanasei are a semiaquatic species that originated from mangroves, but expanded into river forests and riverbanks. They have keratin "helmets" with horns and gills that can produce any sound out of water. They produce water Aether.

Luminae are a semi-subterranean species, with settlements both underground and on the surface. They have antennae which serve to sense air motion, capture light and identify local pressure. They have light Aether, shedding often,

Tajira are a semiaquatic subspecies, with a long hydrodynamic body and manes made of Aether from head to tail, being flora-like. They aren't born with shells, rather the practice of making one being very common in various Tajira cultures.

and a very quick note:
Koegama species are not closed species. Anyone can make one anytime. They have an ARPG related to them, and if you want to play the game you do have to follow the rules, but you can do whatever you want with them outside of it.
