this was inspired by me dropping arknights a few months ago and everything i said applies to it. no matter how much i like its very nature as gacha turns things into a pointless grind eventually. the amount of time it takes you daily adds up. the money aspect is obvious but its such time sinks too.

i like the gameplay but i dont want to play it every single day. but if i dont i will miss out on currency to get more pulls and i cant miss out on new ops because the game balances on them and makes it harder for myself. in the rush to clear every area for events i cant read most of the story.

gachas work against themselves as a medium. being addictive and inducing fomo is inherently more important than quality. of course there is good content within gacha games but 1. you can experience story and character content without playing if you really want to, often times even in a superior way

I was super into the Konosuba gacha, but ended up missing out on one of the crossover event characters. Somehow that was enough for me to put it down for good
