this is an objective fact from a user experience perspective. the only real value is its existing audience capture but that too feels diminished and in decline. it's like a mall where the anchor tenants are gone and the only thing driving foot traffic is a cinema without stadium seating or recliners

I agree. I don't get yelled at nearly as much, but many of the people I found interesting are gone. The "influencers" now reign.

It's lots of engagement bait and bizarre ads. Plus, it's shifted notably toward the Musk/Maga right in a way that's clearly influencing people without them seeming to notice. I'm sure this place has a similar, but opposite effect on that last point.

The reality is that social media is much more fractured now. I prefer the way this place is owned and operated, but a lot of my sourcing and audience remain on Twitter. So, I can't go away from it completely.

I often need to look for specific quotes, video clips, etc. Google has gotten TERRIBLE for this, because breaking news on a topic completely blots out older news on the same topic in their search now. Just a nightmare unless you use parameters carefully.
