Hey, Ludford was my home from ages 10-18! You're quite right about it, of course.
Though the 101 Squadron and its secret agent Lancasters did give it an interesting and mysterious past - and a great subject for my A Level history project.
We used to always drive through it en route on a day trip to the coast when I was a kid. In later years I used to attend the Ludford 5 a side tournament.
The five a side tournament! Played in that a couple of times. And lost, mostly. Difficult to field even a five a side team from a village school such as Ludford's, with its total of 10 junior pupils across all four years.
