And as I've said before, don't blame Trump for this. Blame those who voted for him and those who enable him. (That includes the Republicans who didn't vote to convict after Trump's impeachment.) They are the reason Trump has power. The blood is on THEIR hands.

All Premiere Quisling does is parrot the American talking points like they are legitimate complaints. They are not. The expectation that we should roll over and do whatever Trump wants is simply traitorous behavior she wants us to be an American territory. He will demand more until we surrender.

The NATO thing isn’t an illegitimate complaint. We’ve been well under our funding commitments for many years. NATO leadership and even Obama has tried to get us to step up. We should do that anyway and also secure our northern border.

Agreed military spending was one of the things Harper cut in an attempt to balance the budget and while Trudeau has increased spending it hasn't been near enough. Hopefully Carney becomes PM and he can do something I think he's the only one who can figure out to make the numbers work. Target 3% - 4%

Harper decided to play up one conservative interest at the expense of another: He pledged a GST cut. But that dinged Canada's surplus. So eventually (among other things), he reduced military spending.

It was to the credit of his integrity he kept his GST promise, but it put him in a bind. #cdnpoli

Sort of. That's partially going along with Trump's everyone-else-is-at-fault-but-me. It's also assuming increased military funding would have been spent wisely (and we have no knowledge one way or the other if it would have).

But Trump would dog on Canada no matter what the spending was/wasn't.
