I'm having the same experience (i work at a safety net hospital and drafted policies for the BH Urgent Care clinics that I manage)

We also have so many coworkers who have family members who could be deported. Some have started carrying ID because they're afraid of being detained

I feel same about our elementary school teachers and administrators. My son and daughter in law are elementary school educators in TX. Their first priority is protecting their kids. This is painful. God Bless our teachers and health care workers.

Hey, OP and lurkers, scammers are using the the chaos to scare patients with "outstanding balance." Tell them to send you a LETTER. Do not share any personal information over the phone. Providers will have your address. Give nothing over the phone.

I felt glad when my FQHC leadership pushed all that out proactively. Like they get it and want us prepared-- and not just for patients but staff. Dreamers at risk. My friends. I am entirely ready to delay ICE while acting befuddled and telling long-winded stories leading nowhere

Our city recently published notice of their school's directive on keeping kids safe. This included the bus drivers NOT stopping to let a kid off if they see someone at the bus stop who they feel shouldn't be there. Elevates the bus driver's responsibility for keeping kids safe to a whole new level.

I also work for a safety net hospital, it's very shocking to think that at any time you may have to hide or smuggle someone out of the building. People should not have to fear getting necessary help because of this agenda.

My hospital reaffirmed we do not care about patients or their families status. We aren't a safety net hospital. We are on the edge of a blue dot in a red sea. And my coworkers are predominantly Trump supporters. They enthusiastically voted for this. I worry when the time comes how it will all unfold
