When you realize and/or accept that, it all makes sense.
This is part of the zero-sum mindset half of Americans live by: If somebody else earns something, or gets something, that means there's less left for me.
Honestly. They are incapable of relating to altruism at all--believing that there's enough opportunity in America for everybody.
