Just a reminder: pathogens NEVER help your immune system (pathogens include viruses/unfriendly bacteria). They deplete it. Every time. Why vaccines are safe for immune memory. Exposure to ‘germs’ in dirt, different story (unless it’s tetanus and you’re not updated, then game potentially over).

There’s no immunity. However, the immune system DOES get slaughtered w/ each infection, so your protection is lower. Think back in time, until 2020 have you EVER seen/heard about so many sick people or kids before? No. How about yourself before 2020?? I can count every illness I’ve ever had.

The capacity for each infection to increase and cause Long Covid is an example of that. SARS-2 isn’t beneficial to humans. You can find hundreds of studies showing this.

Norma, it’s not wrong. There are many studies on it. As an epidemiologist (your profile claims that?) you should know this already. SARS-2 is an immune suppressor. Virus does not benefit us with an ever changing mutating pathogen. So, find out more.

"Milder" may mean that our immune system no longer bothers fighting the infection. Many of the acute symptoms are the response of our immune systems.

It doesn’t work like that. If you don’t have antibodies for a pathogen; it has a nasty toolkit; and it gets in your system it hits you like a truck. Ask anyone who is immuno-compromised how they felt after getting flu.

If it’s getting milder it means it’s mutating it’s way to being less disruptive/damaging or the dominant strains have swapped out the genes which make them a problem for us via transduction. It’s become like a tiger shark with no teeth.

One sentence about Long Covid. This article is so insulting to those of us who are suffering daily due to a “mild” infection.

And it only mentions persistent gut infections - ignoring the fact that spike proteins have been found in LC patients’ entire bodies.
