but that also made me question what kinds of internet spaces i wanna be in and that kind of shit? having to force yourself to draw everyday to stay relevant? that is not joyful to me whatsoever. especially because this is NOT my career.

and capitalism has forced so many artists to make fan art their primary income (mainly because they are disabled and unable to hold down any other type of job.) and i would be remiss to consider my privilege (in that: i have a full time job) in my ability to just drop off of twitter like i did.
not just that, but twitter and instagram has made art so fucking homogenized? whatever happened to transparent gif animations? blinkies and buttons? gifsets? customized layouts beyond a banner on your profile page? art has to look a certain way now and i'm not here for it. its boring.
its gotten far more cutthroat in the hobby sphere wrt monetization. with people making careers outta what was just fun for them like a decade ago. i don't like the gentrification of these spaces, and if you can get out you fucking should.
