Lots of people donate it to thrift stores. I know because that’s where I buy the bulk of my fabric. Nothing makes me happier than finding a bag of small pieces.
That’s kind of the situation I’m in now. She traveled and found fabric for projects all over the world. Fortunately she left some notes for projects she had started so I’m trying to find all the pieces so I can finish them for her.
Well here in the Burgh, the Salvation Army has a fabric sale every Spring. The proceeds from the sale of the donated fabrics goes to support women in need. I've given them lots in the past. They're very grateful & my stash is more manageable. Check their web site. 🤗
If they take them some thrift stores only accept 1/2 yd or larger pieces. Disappointing that they just dumped them. Another option is youth groups. You can also try selling on local or social marketplace.
