If Europe can bypass the U.S. and save Ukraine, Europe will take a massive bite out of Trump’s power. He will seem impotent. All democracies and NATO need to replace the U.S. support that no longer exists. Russia is at its weakest. It is the best shot the world has at curtailing Trump and Putin.

Prior to the German Russian pact of the 1930s, Russia was very weak as well. Germany knew this but also knew it could not have a Russian front at the time if it wanted to annexe European countries. Trump is giving Russia strength just as Hitler did. And they still made war against each other.
